Ioannis Papadopoulos is a Production Designer/ Art Director who resides between a farm near the city of Athens overlooking the Aegean Sea and East Village NYC.
After being raised in Singapore and Hamburg, Germany, continuing his studies in London and Athens, he attained his MFA in Production Design from the American Film Institute with a Fulbright scholarship.
During the mid 90s and while at the AFI he received an LA Weekly award, for the production design in Vakhae ( Euripides). While in the states he designed “Bad City Blues” a screenplay by Timothy Willocks, acting Denis Hopper and produced by the producer of The Thin Red Line George Stevens.
In 1999 he returned to Athens Greece to establish a career with projects ranging from theater and TV work, to editorial and advertorial assignments, special events during fashion weeks and design of commercial spaces. Based in Greece he was invited to the to the US to design another film by writer Timothy Willocks in 2001 called “Sin” starring Gary Oldman and Vingh Rhames.
After an excessive career in the advertising industry and after almost 800 tvc spots, ranging from the agency side as a copywriter, to designing commercials on set for established production houses, from idea to the final product, he is always looking into new ideas to follow, worldwide.
His background and work experience in film as well as theatre and television, has given him a broad scope of the trade and the art found in moving image and live entertainment,. The main characteristic is the ability to capture the times and trends, in both design and technology required to present the script and concept.

The goal is to always provide innovative ideas to the design of any space. As a film maker comfort is found in visual story telling and as a designer anything new is a challenge worth taken. At this point designing internet games is a new field of interest and has on the go a social game which was funded for the startup phase, by Start Up Chile.
